Our Drummond Montessori Matters campaign is winding down. Make your DMM contribution go further by applying for a matching grant from your employer or spouse’s employer! Not sure if the Company has a program? Just ask someone in HR.
Matches should be sent to: Friends of Drummond, 1836 N. Honore, 60622. For help completing the Match application, contact .
Many companies issue matching checks only a few times a year, so don’t delay: get your application in now!
It’s shaping up to be a very PINK year — HUGE congratulations and a very loud shout-out to our DMM Co-Chairs, Mollie Stromberg & Julie Neswold. And to all of YOU who supported the campaign through donating and/or volunteering! I’m enormously proud and humbled to be part of such a generous, dedicated school community.

Hello all,
Tomorrow morning at 9:30 on our official last day of school, we will be painting our Pink Tower for the final time. Please let us count your donation by going to www.drummondmontessorimatters.org.
At this time Chicago Liquidators will be delivering all the merchandise that was purchased for the school at our Pink Tower Party on Saturday night. Thank you to all of you who came and supported our cause.
If there are any resident photographers who can bring their camera to capture this moment in our school’s history, we would greatly appreciate your talent.
We really hope to see a lot of parents and a lot of pink paint tomorrow.

Thank you room parents, for all you’ve done this year! We’re trying to get one room parent in place in each room this spring, to assist with new parents and summer events. The second room parent slot will remain open for parents with kids transitioning up, who don’t have room assignements yet, and new parents who want to volunteer. These will be assigned in the fall, within a month of school starting. Please send me an e-mail at if you will be returning as roomparent and include your name and your room number/lead teacher name. This is only for reps who are returning in the SAME room for next year. If your child is moving up or you want to rep in another of your children’s rooms, we will fill those spots in the fall.
Thanks again,
Bonnie Kenaz-Mara

Hi Everyone,
There’s a great deal on Language Classes. TODAY ONLY Multilingual Chicago is offering a $59 class ( valued at $150) which can be used for a 7 hour language boot camp for adults, or applied to a 6-8 week kids language class (the classes are $135 for the summer sessions so with the coupon you will get money back! Summer Session runs 6 weeks, and there are parents and tots as well as classes for 3-5 year olds. In the fall they will be offering classes for kids age 6-8 as well. I’ve been there, and met Jill (who runs the program) and I’m impressed. Please go to the following link to read more and to purchase. The nice thing is that you can take a quick class yourself so you can brush up on the language your child is taking. There is also a nice place to hang out and read or drink some coffee when your child is in class.

The Drummond Local Schol Council will meet Monday June 14th at 6:00 pm in room 007. This will be the final meeting for the year, and we’ll be wrapping up some budget and fundraising approvals and discussing the transition to the incoming council.
The new LSC members who were elected in April will take office effective July 1st for a two year term. Many thanks to the members of the current council who are stepping down after this year!
