Summer is almost here and it is time for the End-of Year Picnic! Early Childhood & Elementary 1 students will be walking to Walsh Park for their picnic. They will bring their own lunches and carry them in their backpacks. We will need chaperones from 9am-230pm for each classroom and also volunteers to help with games, sport activities, and food. Volunteers can sign up for 1-2 hour shifts between 9am-230pm. Please email if you would like to volunteer or chaperone.

A small group of parents collected more than 200 signatures in just 30 minutes during morning drop-off. It was fantastic to see so many parents seeking out the petitions to add their names in support.
The petitions were then delivered to the Chicago Board of Education’s regular meeting this morning at 10:30 AM. Two parents made a brief statement in support of Mr. Neidlinger before the Board and submitted the petitions for the members’ consideration, along with copies of Local School Council correspondence and letters of support from parents, teachers and Alderman Scott Waguespack.
Board President Michael Scott expressed his appreciation for bringing the matter to his attention, and he stated he would take another look at the matter.
Come to Friday’s Local School Council meeting to hear more details about the Chicago Board of Education Meeting and participate in the planning of next steps.

Most of you received a letter that was sent home Tuesday in backpacks regarding actions taken against Mr. Neidlinger by CPS officials. In response, concerned parents have created the attached petition to be presented to the Board of Education at the Wednesday, June 27 meeting. Please show your support!
Look for parents collecting signatures at drop-off Wednesday morning.
A juggler will be visiting Drummond and offering a kids’ class on Wednesday 5/27 from 3-4pm. If you are interested, please rsvp to or just show up for the fun!
