Last chance for Roller Derby discount (see Mr. Daube AKA: Sheik Yerbouti referee)

Filed under: General and Misc — zbluesun at 3:40 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2009

We have enough people for the 40% group discount, but need a final head count by noon Friday.   Payment will be in advance via Paypal (details via private e-mail) and tickets will be held at will call.

Windy City Rollers bout next Saturday, March 21 at 6pm (doors at 5).

The price of the tickets would be $12 per ticket for General Admission (Adult), $9 for General Admission (Students/Seniors), $6 for General Admission (Children) or $24 for VIP Admission. The facility charges a mandatory fee of $1 per ticket, so in reality they would be $13, $10, $7 or $25. One of the best things is that you avoid all the Ticket Master fees and you deal directly with the league staff.

Please private e-mail Bonnie Kenaz-Mara with adult/child ticket totals by noon Fri, March 13th.

UVCC: Spring Break Classes

Filed under: General and Misc — Monica at 5:02 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Once again, Ukranian Village Childrens Center (918 N. Damen) will be offering a couple spring break art classes suitable for Early Childhood and Elementary One students.  Classes will be offered April 9 and 16 from 9:30 to 11:30am and cost $15 ($13 for a sibling).  RSVP if interested to

As I’ve said before, UVCC is a very low-key, child-centered space with a very Montessori-compatible vibe, with many students coming from Drummond, Suder or Near North Montessori.  I highly recommend these classes.  Art classes usually feature a 1 to 1.5 hour art project, plus free-play, stories/reading and sometimes singing.  My girls (ages 3.5 and 5.5) LOVE them!
