Luau 2009 Family Sponsorship

Filed under: General and Misc — Monica at 9:08 pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2009
(Ignore if this is a duplicate; my apologies for any inconvenience.)
A huge thank you to the many Drummond families and others who have agreed to sponsor this year’s Big Event, Luau 2009.  So far, over 25 families have committed amounts ranging from $250 all the way up to $2,000, and commitments are still coming in.  Especially in view of the down economy, every dollar really counts, and I am truly honored to be part of such a generous community of families!  One by one, through your tremendous leadership, you are helping to create a culture of giving at Drummond.  Thank you!

Please make arrangements to remit your sponsorship payment as soon as possible.  Checks should be made out to Friends of Drummond and mailed c/o Monica Lasky to 1836 N. Honore, Chicago, IL 60622 (or just put in an envelope with all of your contact info and dropped in my locked home mailbox right across the alley from the school).

If you haven’t yet joined our family sponsorship campaign, please consider doing so.  Every sponsorship dollar goes directly to Drummond!  (A $250 sponsorship includes two event tickets, valued at $50 each — a terrific bargain!)

If sponsorship is beyond your means this year, there are many, many other ways you can support the Luau — from selling $5 raffle tickets to collecting items for the Silent Auction to volunteering to help with day-of set up.  Every dollar you raise or donate and every minute you volunteer truly matters.  Again, from the bottom of my heart — and on behalf of the children of Drummond – thank you!

Monica Lasky, President, Friends of Drummond and Big Event Sponsorship Committee Co-Chair

The Big Event: Luau 2009 — Event and Raffle Tickets for sale TOMORROW at Report Card Pickup

Filed under: General and Misc — Monica at 6:16 pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2009

With all this dreary weather, we sure are looking forward to seeing everyone on the tropical beaches of Uncle Fatty’s Rum Resort for Luau on May 7!

Representatives of our Ticket Sales Committee will be on campus tomorrow during Report Card Pick-up between 12 and 6pm to sell tickets to The Big Event: Drummond Luau 2009.  Bring your checkbook and you can be among the very first to buy tickets for the big event of the season!  Event tickets are only $50 if purchased in advance!

Our Raffle Committee also will be available to supply more raffle tickets to those of you who’ve already sold out your allotment (way to go!) and/or sell raffle tickets.  (Even if you can’t make it to the event, selling and/or buying raffle tickets is a great, easy way for you, your family and friends to get involved — you need not be present to win!)

Looking forward to sipping mojitos with you all on May 7!

Monica Lasky (on behalf of The Big Event Committee)

P.S. Tickets also may be purchased on-line at www.drummondbigevent.org.
