Because of your generous contributions to the food drive the Drummond PTO was able to distribute $1065.00 worth of grocery cards to 11 Drummond families and 50 vouchers for free coats to 50 Drummond students.

Always a highlight of the year, the PTO Family Reading Night will be Thursday February 19, from 6 to 8 pm. The first planning meeting will Friday December 5, 2:45 in the Library. Drummond Families Together is encouraging people to learn about the desegregation consent decree that Chicago Public Schools has been under since 1980 and then take action to preserve it. This is an important issue for your children and their education. Please take some time to learn more and take action by submitting comments to the court.

All are invited to attend the Drummond LSC meeting and Drummond choir performance tomorrow morning in Room 007. The LSC meeting starts at 7:30am and the choir performance will start at approximately 8:30am. Our children have been working hard to prepare- please join us early at school for an exciting event!

Don’t forget to hand in your Drummond Dollars order tomorrow and order a grocery card to donate to Drummond families in need during the holiday season. You can purchase a card for $20, $25 or $100 through Drummond Dollars. You can indicate on your order that you want the card to go to the food drive, or hand in your card at the office when you receive it — all donations (cash or cards) must be received by November 25th, cash donations will be used to purchase more cards.

Thanks to everyone who sent your feedback on the proposed LSC/Committee Best Practices Guidelines that were circulated last month. The Council plans to review the proposal and your feedback at this week’s meeting (Thursday, Nov 20 at 7:30AM). Attached is a slightly revised version of the Guidelines (in English and Spanish). Your insights on how LSC committees should function are important to maintaining a school that supports volunteerism at every level. Thanks for your help!
