Dear Parents,
Due to a couple of scheduling conflicts, the parent class which was scheduled for this Tuesday evening will be rescheduled for Tuesday, March 4th from 5:30 to 6:30. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope that everyone will be able to join us in March to learn more about the cultural areas in our classrooms.
Sincerely,
Mark Neidlinger
At the request of Mr. Neidlinger, I am forwarding the following:
At the request of several Drummond parents, Ukranian Village Childrens Center, 918 N. Damen, has scheduled a Friday morning class from 9.30 to 11.45 for toddlers/pre-preschoolers 2.5 y.o. and older, beginning this Friday, January 25. Caregivers/parents can drop-off or stay depending on the child’s readiness. The class includes art, creative movement, story-time, free play and snack time, and promises to be great preparation for toddlers who expect to start at Drummond next fall. I personally am delighted to recommend this program; the approach is Montessori-compatible, and both my children (ages 4.5 and 2.5) have thrived at UVCC. Contact or the teacher, Jenine Clevenger, at cell 773-758-2781, or for more information.
Two new representatives joined the Drummond LSC recently: Teacher Representative Jonathan Zielinski and Parent Representative Jennifer James. Welcome Jennifer and Mr. Z! They will both serve on the Council through June. If you would like to contact them with your ideas or concerns, Jennifer James can be reached at or 312.421.8243, and Jonathan Zielinski can be found in Room 200.
All are welcome to attend a School Improvement Plan (SIPAAA) committee meeting on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 9:00am in Room 001. Drummond School is starting to create the School Improvement Plan that will drive the school’s achievement for years 2008-2010. Please join us to talk about: (1) our academic goals for the coming years, and (2) how we will achieve those goals.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in Family Reading Night, the Spaghetti Dinner, the End of Year Picnic and Drummond Dollars. Each of these events will be discussed at the meeting, along with more mentioned on the attached agenda. We’d love to see you there!
