LSC Principal Selection News

Filed under: General and Misc — Sabrina Craig at 3:04 pm on Tuesday, July 3, 2007

Happy Summer! The LSC and school volunteers have been working hard to find our next Principal, and here’s the latest update:

- Nearly 50 applications were submitted, and 12 made the first cut. After careful review, 7 outstanding applicants were invited for 1-hour interviews last week. Thanks to everyone who gave tours to the interviewees and demonstrated our school’s hospitality and community involvement!

- The LSC selected the top 3 candidates as our finalists. Each has a strong background in school leadership and brings valuable experiences and a lot of enthusiasm to the position. The finalists are: Mary Cavey (currently Interim Principal at LeMoyne), Susan Kilbane (currently Assistant Principal at Whittier), and Mark Neidlinger (currently Montessori Director at Drummond).

- You are invited to meet the finalists, ask them your questions, and share your impressions with the LSC at the PUBLIC FORUM on MON, JULY 16 from 5-8pm at HOLSTEIN PARK (2200 N. Oakley). This is your opportunity to participate directly in the
Principal Selection process – the LSC needs to hear from YOU!

Looking forward to seeing you on July 16,

Sabrina

CHIC-A-GO-GO AT THE MILLENNIUM PARK FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL! PLEASE READ AND PLEASE
COME — -WE WANT THIS TO BE GOOD!
For over a decade Chic-A-Go-Go has been throwing fabulous cable-access dance
parties for music lovers of all ages, and this Summer Miss Mia, Ratso, the
wisecracking puppet, and YOU the Chic-A-Go-Go dancers are part of the City of
Chicago’s Summer kiddie programming! Join us for one or both of TWO dance
parties at 2pm and 4pm on Monday July 2nd at the Millennium Park Performance
stage which is at the Chase Promenade North (the Northeast end of Millennium
Park, just East of the big Pritzger stage). We are inviting kids of all ages to
come up and dance with us for these two 45-minute long dance-stravaganzas! We
are in a performance tent, right next to  a big tent where they have free art
projects for kids, and there’s lots of other wacky performers and nutty stuff
going on in that area. Plus, mosey on over to Taste of Chicago and get many
kinds of food on sticks – it’s a magical day downtown!
