Planning Meeting — Tango for Drummond

Filed under: General and Misc — Angelo at 10:08 pm on Sunday, April 15, 2007

A reminder that the next Tango For Drummond Planning Meeting, will be 7pm, Monday, April 16 (that’s tonight if you’re reading this on Monday), at Club Lucky (corner of Honore and Wabansia).

Our kids, true to form, are in full swing in their classes creating items for this school benefit. We hope parents will step up, too, and encourage anyone who wants to help with the event to attend the meeting. A few committees could still use some volunteers, and this may be your last chance to step up. Dinner and/or drinks are available for purchase, but no purchase is required.

Tango for Drummond will be held on the evening of May 17 at Rios d’Sudamerica.  Tickets and more information will be available shortly at the school (Report Card Pick-up Day) and online.

Study of Public Montessori Education in Science

Filed under: General and Misc — michael hannan at 10:38 pm on Wednesday, April 4, 2007

 Drummond community–

A study publlished in the journal Science last September shows strong evidence of Montessori education’s superiority in several categories.  The link below gives a short summary. For the full text of the article you will have to go to the library or shell out a few bucks to Science to read it on line.  Interesting stuff.
