Due to privacy concerns, photos will not remain publically accessable.  If you would like a snapfish link to school event photos please private e-mail me at and specify what event(s) you would like to see.  I have a lot of photos beginning 2 years ago with the Drummond cooking classes, Family Reading Night 2005-2007, Holiday Performances 2006 & 2007, and the end of the year school picnic/carnival 2006 and Brookfield Zoo pre-k trip 2006.   I’ve given discs to the school over the years, but I’d also be happy to share with interested families, if the list of e-mails doesn’t get too crazy and long.

The Magnet School Exploratory Committee, chaired by Principal Collins, is meeting this Thursday, Feb. 22 at 8:30 am in Room 103. This committee is researching options for academic programs to propose for funding through the federal grant programs like the one that funded the Drummond Montessori program. At this meeting, committee members will report some research findings on explored program options, such as the International Baccalaureate programs. This meeting is open to all parents and the public. Agenda attached.

Get Excited for Family Reading Night, 2/20  5-7pm!

Bring your gently used books (picture, story, chapter, information books) to the security desk on Friday or Tuesday and pick up some new tales on Tuesday night at Family Reading Night!  

This year’s theme is Nature and will include several stimulating reading rooms on topics like camping, insects, recycling, water and weather.  A professional story teller will be weaving a tale in the gym at 5:30 and 6:30.  A pizza snack will be available to quench your reading appetite.  A librarian from the Bucktown-Wicker Park Library will be on hand to let us know how the reading can continue after this event.  Ms. Wheatley will be showing parents and students how easy it is to check out books from Drummond’s library! 

Please plan to attend this special event with your children and get ready to read, read, read!   

The After-school committee of the LSC is planning to meet Tonight, February 13th at 6:00pm.  The Bucktown-Wicker Park Library is located at 1701 N. Milwaukee and thwe meeting room is on the 2nd floor. 

Please join us for a LSC afterschool committee kick-off meeting at the Bucktown-Wicker Park Library, Next Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 6:00pm.  All interested parties (teachers, parents, community members) are welcome to attend.  Please email if you plan to attend or if you can’t attend but want to be kept on the email list.
