volunteers needed for hideout block party sept. 8th, 9th & 10th

volunteer at the hideout’s 10 annual block party and help drummond school! this year’s hideout block party at 1354 w. wabansia promises to be a fantastic time as they celebrate touch and go records 25th anniversary. 25 bands from the past and present will play at this three day music fest, proceeds of which will benefit drummond school’s garden project along with literacy works and tuesday’s child.  WE NEED VOLUNTEERS ! volunteers receive free admission to the party the day you volunteer and 3 free beer tickets. volunteer shifts are 3-4 hours and include working the door, selling beer tickets, serving beer, set up and clean up. team leaders are also needed to supervise the volunteers and as a team leader you can get a three day pass. check out the websites at www.hideoutchicago.com and www.tgrec.com. to sign up, please e-mail megan hinchsliff (drummond parent) at or pat lee (volunteer coordinator) at .  thank you!

This is great! Yay for the Hideout! I really encourage parents to volunteer and get your friends to volunteer. I have heard through the grapevine that the number of volunteers that each organization brings to the event is proportionate to the money they receive. Also, this year should be really big because of the Touch and Go bands (it has been getting national press) and I heard that if they don’t get enough volunteers this year they will have to hire some workers, which would cut down on the amount of money that would go to all three organizatons.
