Looking for a Date? Try the New Online Calendar

Filed under: General and Misc — Angelo at 2:18 pm on Wednesday, February 13, 2008

We’ve now added a calendar feature to the website to help remind you of upcoming Drummond-related events. Check it out and tell us what you think. A preview of next events is on the right side of this page and a link is provided to the full calendar. If you would like to be able to add relevant events to this calendar, send me a note at  for instructions.

The calendar is powered by Google calendar. If you have a Google calendar account, you can sign up to have automated reminders of these events. If you use Google, Outlook or any other iCal-compatible calendar software, you can have events in the Drummond calendar automatically overlayed onto your personal calendar. Give it a try. For directions on setting up Outlook, click “Read on” below.

Subscribe to your Google Calendar

You can subscribe to your calendar posted on Google Calendar. An Internet Calendar Subscription keeps your Outlook copy of your Google Calendar updated. Outlook periodically checks the Google Calendar for updates, and if any are found, they are downloaded to the calendar copy in Outlook.

  1. Right-click the “iCal” button at http://www.drummondlsc.org/main/drummond-community-calendar/, and then select “Copy Shortcut”.
  2. In Outlook, on the Tools menu, click Account Settings.
  3. On the Internet Calendars tab, click New.
  4. Paste the Internet Web address you copied in step 1, by pressing CTRL+V.
  5. Click Add.
  6. In the Folder Name box, type the name of the calendar as you want it to appear in Outlook, and then click OK.
